Price cuts are not a new concept. We often see price cuts arrive for existing models shortly before a new model is released. In this case we happen to be referring to the Galaxy S III, of which we are now waiting for the GALAXY S 4 to be released. Before we get ahead of ourselves though, the carriers seem to be lowering the price of the Galaxy S III.
AT&T recently lowered the price to $99.99 and as of today, the same has been done by Verizon Wireless. For those keeping track, the price of the Galaxy S III was previously $199.99, which means you are having to shell out $100 less than you would have previously. Not a bad deal, but one that will keep you from upgrading for another two-years.
The Verizon website notes the Galaxy S III price as being $149.99 on a two-year agreement which drops to $99.99 by way of a $50 online discount. End result — you would be paying $99.99 for the handset. At the moment Verizon has the Galaxy S III listed as being available in black, white and blue.
Verizon Wireless has yet to offer any pricing details for the GALAXY S 4, however we can look towards AT&T for a rough comparison. AT&T has the GALAXY S 4 selling (on pre-order) for $249 on a new two-year agreement. US Cellular has also announced the upcoming availability of the GALAXY S 4, however they have yet to reveal any pricing. Bottom line here, now seems like a good time to decide whether to get a nicely discounted Galaxy S III with Verizon, or go for the new model and pay the higher upfront cost
