Most people have already accepted the fact that no matter how hard they try to escape it, Facebook is probably here to stay, at least in the next few years. But even as we surrender to the inevitable and install it on our mobile devices, the native app still leaves a lot to be desired, if we’re honest. So of course there will be alternatives to using the actual app, and one of the newest ones available is called Folio for Facebook Browser.

Looks-wise, it doesn’t look that different from the actual FB app. It has the same white and blue scheme, and the familiar look and feel that tells you you’re really on Facebook. It does have a cool feature where you can activate a Dark theme and your timeline will turn, well, dark. That theme is still a bit unstable though because when you toggle back and forth to other sections, it sometimes takes a while for it to catch up and reverts back to the normal white theme. Hopefully, they’ll fix this and maybe add a few more alternative themes.

As for its other features, it does a better job of streamlining all the sections of Facebook, like notifications, messages, friends, groups, pages, etc. All of them can be found on the left hamburger menu and it just slides out, instead of taking you to another page before you even get to choose where you want to go. And if you don’t want to install the separate Messages app but still want to read your messages on your mobile device, you can do so in Folio.

However, bottom line is that it’s still a relatively new app and there are a lot of bug fixes and improvements, that hopefully will come in the next update. But if you just want to try it out for now, and you think anything is better than the actual FB app, you can download it for free from the Google Play Store. Just remember that they are not affiliated in any way with Facebook.
