As expected, CyanogenMod is skipping development for CM14 and going straight into CM14.1 which is based on Android 7.1 Nougat. The first batch of nightly builds are upon us, and they go out to a number of popular devices. Just remember that these are nightly builds – there will be bugs, and there may be some features that are still missing or not working. But if you’re ready for that, jump in.

The CM14.1 nightly builds are arriving for a wave of popular Android devices, and high profile inclusions are the Nexus 6P and the Nexus 5X. You will remember that Google has chosen to give these two units a dumbed-down version of Android 7.1 so that the highlight will be on the new Pixel smartphones. Maybe CM14.1 will give these Nexus flagships from last year a breath of fresh air.

Also included in the list of devices are the OnePlus 3, the Xiaomi Mi3w and Mi4, the LG G3, four Moto G variants, the LG G4, the Samsung Galaxy S5, and the ASUS Zenfone 2. This is already a good mix of devices across the flagship and midrange board, but you can expect this list to grow soon with the next waves of supported devices.

Remember that filing for bugs is on these builds is always appreciated, but CM reminds users that asking for missing features is futile since this is all “a work in progress.” Check out the CyanogenMod download page for acquiring these nightly builds.
