Yesterday, we reported that the first-gen Samsung Galaxy Tab S won’t be receiving Android Marshmallow. Some people said that it’s not true because Samsung just confirmed that the fluffy update is coming. Samsung Mobile Greece is also believed to have said the same so we’re curious to know more about the truth. Well, it seems there is truth to the Tab S getting Android 6.0 according to a user manual.

Discovered on Samsung’s official website is this document that has some Marshmallow reference. Listed are four models: SM-T705, SM-T705Y, SM-T805, and SM-T8057. This user manual tells us that an update is already being prepped. Perhaps Samsung Netherlands or whoever is handling customer support just made an honest mistake.

But even if Samsung didn’t release a software update, we’re okay with it. However, we know that those own such tablets will be disappointed but I guess this is good news for now…so not anymore.

No further details were posted but at least we know the old Galaxy Tab S will still be able to receive the fluffy update. Now let’s wait for information if the tablet will still be eligible for Android Nougat. This one though, we highly doubt now but as you know, Samsung can always make a way. We’ll see.

  1. Get your facts straight before you post nonsense. You should also be apologizing for misleading people when you mentioned the Tab S won’t be getting an update, don’t place the blame on someone else.
