Square Enix’s “Final Fantasy Tactics” was one of the iconic games that served as the foundation for the Japanese outfit’s rise to gaming legend. The RPG was launched for the Sony PlayStation in 1997, and was updated and re-released for the PlayStation Portable in 2007 as “Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions”. Now Android gamers can enjoy on of the most loved RPGs coming from Square Enix, as the game has now been optimized for mobile and is now available via the Google Play Store.
So how exactly was the game ported for mobile? In the new Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions, the game now takes advantage of touch screen technology. You can now swap menus by tapping, as well as tap units to activate them. The game also had fixed map views in the initial offering. In the mobile version, you can now rotate, move and change the size of maps by sliding and pinching.
Square Enix has also improved loading times significantly. More to that, some cut scenes can now be skipped (whereas before, you couldn’t) so that gamers who already know the storyline can dive straight into the battles. Cool, right?
This RPG can now be picked up at the Google Play Store, check out the download link below. This is a premium port, so the game will cost you USD$13.99. Are you willing to pay that much for an admittedly enjoyable nostalgia hit?
