The Farmville craze may have died down (do I hear sighs of relief) and we now rarely receive invites and requests from our Facebook friends (or we may have just blocked them). But that doesn’t mean this highly addictive game from Zynga has disappeared from the face of the earth. In fact, one of its new reincarnations now is as Farmville: Harvest Swap, is a Match-3 game that is now available on mobile devices. And you don’t even need to ask your friends for help to play it!
Instead of having to collect crops and manage a farm, you would know to match 3 items until you clear the board. It’s just like any standard Match-3 game where you can just swap and swipe the different vegetables, fruits, and crops that you would need to make disappear. You can also match and expand your game board so you can also find more ways to win. There is still a story element in this game, as it still uses Farmville characters, environments and items which should seem familiar to those who played the game addictively in its heyday.
If you still want to involve your friends, you can still do so by playing with them and inviting them to play with you. Just make sure you won’t be sending them tons of game requests that they’ll just hide you from their timeline or something.
Farmville: Harvest Swap is available to download for free from the Google Play Store. There are in-app purchases available, ranging from $0.99 to $99.99 (who would pay $100 just for an item in a game???) but you don’t really need them to advance through the game. Although, of course if you had money to spare, it would help.
