A lot of people are still on a nostalgia kick as evidenced by a lot of #ThrowbackThursday #FlashbackFriday #SentimentalSaturday posts that we see on various social media. Facebook is getting in on the action by announcing their newest feature called On This Day, which will give you a glimpse of what you were doing (or rather sharing) the years past. This can be both good news and bad news, depending on what you were doing years ago.

But don’t worry, your On This Day page is not shared with the whole world. It’s for your eyes alone. You’ll be able to see the content you shared on your Facebook from this date in the past year, two years, and so on and so forth. You’ll also be able to see photos or posts that your friend or friends tagged you in…on this date, as the feature’s name says. But if you decide to share it again on your wall, you’ll be able to do so easily.

To view your On Your Date page, you can either click on the bookmark, search for On Your Day on your Facebook or just go to facebook.com/onthisdday. It can also randomly appear on your newsfeed or you can subscribe to notifications to receive alerts when you have something to look back on. You’ll also get the option to edit your old posts or even delete them when you realize that you’re embarrassed to have posted this in the past.

While there are some apps that have been doing this in the past like Timehop, it’s also great (or not great, if you have a lot of regrets the past year) to see a native feature that will show your FB history and to share them again if they’re actually worth sharing. Don’t worry if it’s not showing up on your account yet as they’re still in the process of rolling it out globally.
