If you enjoyed the physical card game Exploding Kittens brought to you by the creators of The Oatmeal, and then turned green with envy when your friends with iOS devices got the app first, then you will probably be pleased to know that the developers said that the Android version is definitely on its way. There might not be a set date or even time frame for it, but those cute kittens will soon be exploding all over your smartphone and/or tablet.
Don’t worry, no actual kitties were harmed during the making of both the card game and the app. This is the kind of game that you cannot play on your own and you cannot play with random strangers on the Internet. This is like Russian roulette, but with cute kittens. You can play with 2-5 players using various devices, but all of you have to be in the same room. All the players need to have downloaded the app and it uses a combination of WiFi and Bluetooth connection to get your various devices playing with each other.
You keep drawing cards until one of you gets the titular Exploding Kitten, and then all of you are dead. But if the player has a Defuse card, which include laser pointers, belly rubs, and catnip sandwiches, then they can use it to not explode. There are also cards that you can use to move, mitigate, and avoid any of the Exploding Kittens cards.
As we said, there is no specific date yet when the Android app will come out and if it will be priced the same as the iOS which is now at $1.99. The developers also said they are working on a Blackberry app as well, although why they should is a mystery. Unless they know that there are a lot of cat-loving Blackberry users out there.
