You’ve seen enough Indiana Joneses and The Mummies and Nights at the Museums to know that nothing good ever comes out of stealing gems from angry gods buried in tombs and caves. But of course, we never really learn don’t we? Well, at least, it’s all just a game with Ruby Run: Eye God’s Revenge, a new side-scrolling platformer game now on Android, from the creators of Hopeless: The Dark Cave.
You play a mustachioed hero on the run from a vengeful Eye God (you probably got that from the title) who is after you and the sacred ruby that you stole. You need to run as fast as you can, all while shooting down all that stand in your way, including the followers of the Eye God who might be a little slow but they’re still determined to get in your way. There are also obstacles and other challenges you need to tackle as you make your escape. Along the way, you get to collect gems and build your own gun inventory, because you don’t want to know what happens when you run out of bullets and/or weapons. (Hint: it’s not good).
If you log on to Facebook and your friends join, you’ll get more gems so you can buy more stuff. And if you defeat said friends, you’ll get even more gems. Just cool it on the game invites though, or you’ll eventually find you don’t have friends anymore. Don’t worry, you’ll get a few more goodies as long as you keep playing.
