Telltale Games is one of the most popular and critically-acclaimed game developers, bringing you such awesome episodic game series like Game of Thrones, A Wolf Among Us, The Walking Dead, etc. One of their more popular titles is Tales from the Borderlands, a choose-your-own-adventure type of game series, and if you haven’t yet tried this one because of the price tag, you can play Episode 1, Zer0 Sum for free (hopefully forever).
Based on the Borderlands console game, you can play either of two characters who go on an adventure together: Rhys, a Hyperion “suit” or Fiona, a Pandoran con artist. They need to retrieve a bundle of money that they both rightfully think is theirs. Along the way, they get to encounter bandits, gangsters, and Vault Hunters who are out to stop them.
This is a five-part series, with four already released, and the last one rumored to be announced sometime this week. Making the first episode free is a way to entice new players and hopefully get them so addicted to the game (and it is addictive, we’re warning you) that they’d want to buy the other four game episodes.
Each of the episodes is priced at $5, but you get a 20% discount if you get the season pass, which will get you all five episodes for just $15. The fifth episode, The Vault of The Traveler will probably be out soon. You can download Tales from the Borderlands from the Google Play Store.
