Rather than lamenting the fact that people are getting into connected devices, a lot of the traditional watchmakers are actually getting into the game, releasing their own smart wearables. The latest such brand to venture into this market is Emporio Armani, the younger, more contemporary face of the Armani empire. They are releasing the Emporio Armani Connected, a collection of hybrid smartwatches, still carrying the analog watchface that its users are familiar with, while bringing a connectivity that can help users keep up with their digital lives.
This collection is technically not a full-on smartwatch, like what other watchmakers have done, but it is definitely a connected device that still maintains the fashionable look that Emporio Armani is known for. You will be able to sync the watch to your connected smartphone through Bluetooth and has a whole array of features that may appeal to those who still want the stylish look of a wearable but with the technology and advanced functionalities of a smartwatch. And a bonus is that you don’t need to charge any of the Emporio Armani Connected watches as they’re powered by quartz batteries.
You will be able to receive discrete notifications if you have a call, message, or other apps that are important to you. You will also be able to track and monitor basic daily activities, including the steps you take every day and your sleep patterns as well. You will also be able to control your music on your smartphone from the watches, and wirelessly take photos using your connected device’s camera. You can also include a second time zone, set up alarms for scheduled alerts, and also find your smartphone in case you’ve lost it.
The Emporio Armani Connected watches are now available on their online store, and in select boutiques and stores nationwide. It comes in rose gold-tone, black, gunmetal, and stainless steel, with a three-piece link or leather strap. Prices start at $245 and the most expensive model is at $395.
