When Dropbox launched a new app called Paper to a limited number of users, those lucky ones were actually pretty excited about it, as you could now collaborate better for projects and pitches and even for schoolwork. Now they are opening it up to everyone who would like to try it out, although it is still in open beta mode so expect some changes to happen as they test out what works and what doesn’t. And they now also have mobile apps for Android devices.
If you’re not familiar with it, Dropbox Paper is a collaboration tool that helps you create documents that you can work on with your team in real-time. You can create brainstorming docs, creative collaboration files were you can insert videos, images, etc, meeting notes, and to-do lists that will help you finish all the things you need to accomplish. Based on feedback from the earlier beta, they have now enhanced the tables and image galleries, added notifications for desktop, mobile, and web.
Some people have used Dropbox Paper to capture meeting notes. If you connect your account with your Google Calendar, you can create a custom notes doc so that when you have your next meeting, you can just share the minutes with everyone who’s invited. For the to-do’s list, you can assign specific tasks to people just by adding @ and then your team member’s name.
You can download Dropbox Paper from the Google Play Store for free. But remember, it’s still in public beta mode so there might still have some bugs and problems. Patience is a virtue.
