Back in the day (and we mean like 3 or more years ago), if you wanted a multi-room sound system, you had to employ a ton of expensive speakers and various wires and connectors to be able to achieve that effect. Nowadays, you just need a nice but not so pricey sound system that has WiFi or Bluetooth connectivity. Or both, so you have an option which one you want to use. Devon’s HEOS multi-room sound system has been upgraded to include Bluetooth as a connectivity option.
When Denon Electronics first brought the HEOS system to consumers, it had three speakers and a Wi-Fi extender so that anywhere in the house you placed the speakers, the WiFi connectivity will be able to reach them. Eventually, they also added an indoor/outdoor speaker, soundbar with subwoofer, pre-amp, amp, and a multi-zone amplifier as well. They will also now be getting Bluetooth connectivity so that you can play music onto the speakers from your source device using it, plus the option of WiFi as well.
Another upgrade to the HEOS audio devices is compatibility to high-quality audio files uncompressed WAV, and FLAC music files up to 24-bit/192-kHz, either through the network or through plugging in your USB with music files onto the speakers. In the near future, they will also be adding compatibility with DSD and AIFF audio tracks as well.
The updated platform for HEOS speakers will now include an ARM A9 1.25 GHz Processor, together with 512MB of flash memory and 256MB RAM. No news yet on how much the new HEOS multi-room sound system will cost and when it will be available in the market.

HEOS range of wireless speakers by Denon is one of the best wireless speakers I have used and now company has also introduced some up-gradations in them of high-resolution audio support and Bluetooth connectivity which will surely make them irresistible. Improved processor and support for high-quality audio formats are the added advantages. I am sure that as a music lover, I can’t be able to stop myself from buying them.
