When you’re a warrior, one of the most important things (or so they say) is to ensure that your legacy will pass on to future generations so that your family’s name will forever be immortalized in the annals. A new game called Legacy Quest aims to do just that, combining RPG gameplay with rogue-like elements and a classic dungeon crawler dynamic. The game is available now for Android devices in selected countries but will expand worldwide later this year.
The kin to which your hero belongs to has been fighting the forces of evil for the past few, countless generations. However, the evil has grown and it is now up to you to restore your family’s glory while trying to vanquish these forces that want to spread their reign of doom. No big deal right? As you go on this journey, you will unlock dormant traits that you didn’t know you had, craft your own weapons and armor to add to your family’s legacy, and collect loot along the way which you can pass on down through your bloodline if you die.
There are over 60 Dungeon wings in this game, as you go through “dark forests, frozen palaces, swampy depths, and fiery cauldrons”. And even if you die in the game, you’ll pass on your legacy to another family member, which will be played by…well, you. This is basically a family adventure and story, so this isn’t weird at all. The game also has a loot system where any item that you crafted on your own will remain in the game world even if you die, either to be passed on to your kin or to be picked up by your enemies who killed you.
