While the OnePlus 3 official announcement is still a few days away and the existence of a Half Life 3 is still unknown at this point, skinmaker dBrand has apparently released an image that suggests either of those or even both. At this point, we don’t know if they are doing this on their own to create hype or if there is an actual partnership with OnePlus to generate buzz in the days leading to the launch.
dBrand has made a name for itself in customizing smartphones, like creating skins and cases to make your device look a bit different. They took to Twitter to release an image featuring the OnePlus logo put on top of a Half Life or at least a Half Life themed background, with the number 3 there. We infer that it is referring to the upcoming OnePlus 3 of course, but what does Half Life have to do with it? They also had a cryptic caption, saying 6.14.16, which may refer to the launch date here. It will be launched in China though, which is on the 15th.
Now we don’t know if dBrand has an official partnership with either Half Life or OnePlus, but they might be preparing for a Half-Life themed skin for the upcoming flagship. There is much anticipation for this one already, with its rumored specs: 5.5-inch FullHD AMOLED display, Snapdragon 820 SoC, 4GB/6GB RAM, 32GB/64GB internal storage, 16MP main camera.
Of course none of these specs are confirmed yet, but we can expect them to be somewhere around this range based on leaked benchmark listings and TENAA certification. But we just have to wait a few more days to find out the real deal, both for the OnePlus 3 and this dBrand teaser.
