Who wants to be alone in the dark? I don’t know anyone who does but if you’re playing The Last Door: Collector’s Ed, you’d understand how bad it can be. The award-winning adventure game by Phoenix Online Studios has been terrifying gamers in this mysterious challenge set in Victorian England.
Even if the graphics are low-resolution and pixelized, the suspense horror adventure game is proving to be a journey worth taking. It started when Jeremiah Devitt received a cryptic message for an old schoolmate named Anthony Beechworth. The gameplay has Jeremy exploring an old manor where he remembers an old secret and open doors that should not be opened.
The Last Door: Collector’s Edition includes four episodes focusing on otherworldly horror and occult. The game has already been updated with remastered background music, unlockable bonus, and enhanced graphics (still pixelized though). You have nothing but a magnifying glass and lamp to guide you as you explore the underground, tenements, and ancient manors — all in their horrific state.
This game features new scenes, stories, puzzles, and locations. Scenarios include one limited-edition set and four critically-acclaimed scenarios. As you explore the ancient manor, you can also unlock bonus content and unlock new extra items. The app also features original musical score by Carlo Viola. Game is said to be inspired by H.P. Lovescraft’s work.
This is one mystery worth discovering even if the graphics aren’t impressive. It wouldn’t win a ‘Best Games of the Year award’ it it’s one boring game. Dare to see for yourself.
