For those who were old enough to have played games on Nintendo’s Family Computer, you probably remember this game called Duck Hunt which let you use a light gun accessory to shoot ducks on your screen. While we had some spin-off or imitation games years later, it was still different compared to the original. Well, something a bit close to it is now available on Android called Cyclops Duck Hunt, and this time, instead of a light gun, you need a virtual reality headset like the Samsung Gear VR or Google Cardboard.
You are the titular cyclops in this game who has just woken up from a probably long nap and discovered that the land has now been overrun by ducks. And these are not just any ordinary ducks, mind you. They are evil, mutant ducks that have come about because of “reckless genetic engineering” and so you have robots, zombies, and yes, there are Donald Trump ducks that you have to kill.
When using your VR headset, look in the direction where the ducks are, and then shoot. And when they drop dead, they will also drop cash that you will collect. When your meter is filled with dead evil ducks, a special duck will show up and you still have to kill it to get even more points and bonuses.
Even though the game was created especially to use with VR headsets, you will still be able to play it on a normal smartphone or tablet. You just have to switch to standard gameplay. You can download Cyclops Duck Hunt from the Google Play Store for free, with in-app purchases available.
