Chrome Dev for Android

The Chrome web browser app for Android is always being updated. That’s actually an understatement since tech giant Google is regularly working on improving the web browser. We’ve lost count of how many times Google and Chrome developers have released versions of the app but we know that they come in four main channels from Stable to Beta then Dev, and then Canary.

The Stable release is obviously the version safe for public consumption. Beta is for public testing while Dev is for the developers. The Canary is the first one designed for developers and early adopters. It’s the version most prone to breakage so be careful when you plan on testing it.

The latest version of Chrome has just been released on the Play Store. It’s Chrome Dev so this one comes before the next Chrome Beta. Don’t expect this one to be work smoothly because Google is still working on a few kinks. In Google’s own words, the latest features are still “rough around the edges”. It’s up to you if you want to test this one out–at your own risk.

Chrome for Android Dev channel is also known as Android 44.0.2384.4 version. Google promises that it will be published on the same schedule as other platform Dev channels. If you’re a developer going to test this Chrome Dev, Google’s Chrome Team requests you give your feedback and help them make Chrome for Android better.
