The Cat s61 was the last rugged phone we featured from Cat. There are newer models available but it’s only now the Cat S48c Android phone is coming to Verizon. At this week’s CES 2019, CAT is announcing the S48c’s availability in the United States through Verizon. If you’re looking for a new rugged smartphone for everyday use, check out the Cat S48c and see it’s ready for your work and productivity needs. Verizon customers can avail of the device for only $249.99 if you’re already on Verizon Business and Enterprise.
The retail price of the Cat S48c is $599.99. It’s not exactly affordable but its ruggedness is enough reason for you to buy one. Of course, we know you’ll only get the device if you’re always outdoors or work in harsh environments.
Verizon will start offering the Cat phone before January ends directly from catphones.com. It will be ready with its MIL-SPEC 810G rating, IP68 water-dust proof rating, and Non-incendive Class I Division 2 approval. All these standards mean the phone can withstand extreme temperature, vibration, dust, drops, water, and some hazardous materials.
The phone’s 13MP rear camera can be used underwater as the phone can be submerged up to four water, up to 35 minutes. We have no idea what work you may be doing that would require you to do things underwater but the Cat S48c can also be used for travels and other outdoor adventures.
Cat S48c on Verizon is one way for Cat to reach more consumers because of the reliable connection. To review the specs, the Cat S48c comes equipped with a 5-inch FHD screen, Corning Gorilla Glass 5, 4000mAh battery, programmable key, 13MP rear camera with flash, 5MP front camera, 64GB onboard storage, 4GB RAM, 2.2GHz Qualcomm SDM630, VoLTE, and MIL-SPEC 810G rating. The phone runs on Android Oreo but can be upgraded to Android Pie.
