BLU is the name to trust if you want really affordable Android phones. If you’re looking for a cheap smartphone with good enough specs, expect BLU to give you just what you need. Blu recently announced a new addition to the Energy line. Officially called as the Energy X Plus 2, this smartphone is obviously a follow-up to the X Plus that was released last year. We remember that one for being a budget-friendly device yet came with a huge battery.
Just like its older sibling, the X Plus 2 comes with another impressive battery life at 4900mAh. It boasts of quick charging so you can squeeze in extra juice within only a few minutes. Blu said the phone can last up to a maximum of three days on standard mobile phone use of texting, calls, and mobile browsing.
Other specs of the smartphone include a 5.5-inch screen with 720×1280 pixel resolution, 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MTK6580 chipset, 8GB built-in storage, 1GB RAM, 8MP rear camera, 5MP front-facing shooter with LED flash. The device offers dual SIM support but unfortunately, there’s no LTE connectivity only HSPA+ and standard WiFi. The storage and RAM are unimpressive but the batt makes the Energy X Plus 2 a perfect secondary phone if you’re only after battery life.
Out of the box, the Blu Energy X Plus 2 runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Phone is now listed on Amazon with a super affordable price of $106. No details on exact availability but it should start shipping anytime soon.
You can choose from among the rose gold, gold, or black version of the Blu Energy X Plus 2. No information if phone will also be ready for the Nougat update someday.
