blackberry classic

Android apps running on BlackBerry? This isn’t a new thing because apps have been running on BlackBerry 10 OS for some time now but the Canadian smartphone pioneer recently teamed up with Amazon. In line with the arrival of the BlackBerry Classic smartphone, this partnership is an effort to bring more Android goodness to the platform. The new smartphone is said to run BlackBerry 10 OS 10.3.1, Amazon Appstore, and an Android Runtime.

With the Amazon Appstore on the BlackBerry Classic, this means more Android apps can be enjoyed more than ever. While this is a nice development for BlackBerry phones, the 3.5-inch display is too small to run apps and games. It might not be too comfortable but at least it can run Android apps especially those that can run on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.

BlackBerry and Android partnering to make the classic smartphone a better device is a good thing. We’re not expecting too much though from this because we know there are still limitations but it’s a first step. And yes, this also means BlackBerry isn’t bidding goodbye to the mobile industry anytime soon.

Here’s a review of the specs of the BlackBerry Classic: 3.5-inch display, 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB built-in storage, and a microSD card slot. I know a lot of BlackBerry users who would be happy about this news.

  1. Jesus guy, proof read your articles before posting them. This is the third Android centric article I’ve read in 15 minutes that read like a 9 year old’s homework assignment.
