We all know that Blackberry still has something up its Android sleeve, after their first smartphone on the platform, the Priv, has met pretty positive reviews, although sales leave much to be desired. What we don’t know is what the next product will be or when it will arrive. But thank to rumors and leaks, we might get a clearer picture, now that the GFXBench benchmark test for a Blackberry “Hamburg” has been leaked, sort of confirming that they’re still in the hardware business.

Analysts have been speculating if Blackberry was just about ready to throw in the towel in terms of hardware. But CEO John Chen said that will not happen and in fact, they will be releasing two Android smartphones before the year ends. Some have speculated that it is the one codenamed Hamburg, a mid-tier device that should give those that found the Priv a tad too expensive. Not much was known about it, but if we are to believe this leaked info from the benchmark test, then this is pretty exciting news for Blackberry fans.

It will supposedly have a 5.2” Full-HD display with 1920 x 1080 pixels. Inside, it will have the Snapdragon 615 chip, powered by an octa-core 1.5GHz processor. It will have a pretty good 3GB RAM and a 16GB internal storage, expandable of course. Camera wise, it’s also pretty decent with 12MP for the main and 7MP for the front-facing one. It will come with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box, reportedly.

BlackBerry-Hamburg

Of course we take all these things with a grain of salt as nothing has been officially confirmed. They may be announcing something by August, which may or may not bear close resemblance to what our picture of the Blackberry Hamburg is today.
