As a follow up to the PRIV and the DTEK50, BlackBerry is set to announce a new smartphone. Rumor has it that it will be the DTEK60 aka BlackBerry Argon according to some leaked details. The device is believed to be arriving very soon as it has already dropped by WiFi Alliance and the FCC. As you know, visit to these sites only mean one thing: it’s coming.
The BlackBerry Argon is listed on the FCC as model number BBA1001. Meanwhile, the WiFi Alliance is listed as the DTEK60 and BBA1001. Both names refer to one device that will be equipped with a 5.5-inch screen, 2560 x 1440 Quad HD resolution, Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, Adreno 530 GPU, 4GB RAM, 32GB onboard storage, USB Type-C, 21MP auto-focus rear camera, 8MP selfie shooter, and a 3000 mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support. Phone runs Android 6.0.1 and will have a fingerprint sensor for mobile security.
We have no doubts about the impending launch of the next BlackBerry Android phone. There’s no sign of Android 7.0 Nougat running on the new smartphone but it should be ready soon. There seems to be not much difference compared to the DTEK50 but its screen is slightly bigger, has a higher resolution display, and better cameras. Don’t be surprised if it becomes more expensive too.
