Trying to find the balance between convenience and protection can sometimes be a tricky situation. Sometimes you want easy access to your devices but that may also leave you vulnerable to hacking and attacks. That’s why maybe you’d want to rely on an online security expert to give you these convenient shortcuts while at the same time still giving you even more security features. That’s what the Bitdefender Mobile Security & Antivirus app is aiming to do and the latest update brings you more features to complement that.

The Snap Photo feature of the security app will automatically take pictures of the person who is trying to access your phone by inputting the wrong PIN numbers, which is most likely a thief or worse, a loved one trying to snoop around your smartphone. Aside from the picture, it will also record the date and time when they were trying to break into your device. The picture and info will be sent to your Google account.

When you’re on a previously identified secure WiFi network, like at home or at your office (if you feel secure enough there), you can have Bitdefender automatically disable your PIN codes so that you don’t need to input your codes every time you need to use your device. Of course there is a risk involved in that, if for example the potential thief is actually in those supposedly secure areas. But if you trust the people around you, then this is a convenient option.

The update has rolled out to users already. But if you don’t have the app yet, you can download Bitdefender Mobile Security & Antivirus from the Google Play Store for free.
