One thing people were looking forward to enjoying with the LG G5 is that it will come with “friends” or accessories that will fit the modular set-up for LG’s new flagship. We told you about the LG Cam Plus which will soon be available through B&H Photo and now the online store has also opened the pre-orders for two more friends: the LG 360 CAM and the LG 360 VR Headset. Your wallet will not be happy but your LG G5 may very well be.
The LG 360 CAM may look like part of a toy submarine, but it will be your gateway towards creating awesome 360 photos and videos. It is a spherical camera that has two 13MP sensors and two 200 degree wide-angle lenses. All of these things will work together to give you 360 degree photos and also videos in 2K. It has 4GB of internal memory but it can also be expanded by putting in a microSD card. You’ll be able to use it with your LG G5 and as a stand-alone device as well. You can upload content on Google Street View, YouTube360 and the content can be viewed on any device that can display 360° content.
The LG 360 VR Smartphone Headset lets you view virtual reality content of course. It can be connected to your LG G5 through a cable and lets you see all those videos like you were watching it on a 130” television that is 6.6” away from you. You will be able to view photos and videos from your LG 360 Cam and any content from the Google Cardboard. The only bad thing about is it that it is only compatible with the LG G5 (hopefully just for now).
Both the LG 360 CAM and the LG 360 VR Headset will be available for $199.99 each at B&H Photo, although you can already pre-order now. Sorry, but it looks like it’s going to be pretty expensive getting all these friends for the LG G5.
