If you live in the UK and BBC programs and websites are your major source of information (and at times, entertainment), then you probably wished you had a more customizable app so that all the information you get is what you actually want or need to see. Well, good thing the folks over there are thinking that way too. The new BBC+ app allows you to have a more personalized app in terms of mobile content from the British news conglomerate.
The basic idea is that after you download the app, you sign in or sign up into a BBC account so that all your preferences and interests are saved under your name. After that, you are now free to customize your app so that all the content from BBC that you get to see are the ones that you actually care about. So if you’re tired of having those pesky entertainment news going to your feed, then you can weed them out. Or if politics really isn’t your cup of tea, you won’t see content connected to this anymore.
BBC says that over 7.2 million people have actually signed in to the BBC and that more than a third are recurring users every month. Those users who have signed in actually consume 44% more of the content than those who are just visiting. And to prove that we are really in the sharing era, more than 1.6 billion programs have been recommended to both listeners and viewers.
You can download the BBC+ app from the Google Play Store for free. However, it’s only available in the UK for now but it might be available elsewhere soon, if they’re following in the footsteps of the BBC iPlayer Radio app which will soon be available worldwide.
