If you’re a musician or even just a music lover who’s all about that bass (and we mean literally), then subwoofers are a pretty important thing for you. A new Kickstarter campaign aims to keep that bass as close to your body as possible in order for you to literally feel the music. The Basslet is what they call the “world’s first watch-size subwoofer for your body” and is a wearable that may appeal to music creators and even gamers who would like to have a different kind of audio experience.
Basically, the main purpose of the Basslet is to help you get closer to the bass by making you feel it with your body rather than just your ears. The creators are using a technology called LoSound engine (patent pending) which creates these vibrations through a weight moving back and forth and it spans across the full bass spectrum from 10-250 Hz. In other words, it makes you feel like you’re standing next to a subwoofer, only, you’re actually wearing it and no one else can “hear” it except you.
To be able to experience this tech is through a simple enough process. You connect the sender to your smartphone, laptop, music player, tablet, etc (basically anything that has a 3.5mm headphone input/output). Then you strap the basslet to your wrist and you’re all set. You can use it while listening to music, producing music, or even just playing a game to experience the “epicness of your audio environment.”
The campaign has already reached its target of $56,560 (€50,000) and there are still 32 days to go in the campaign. The lowest you can pledge now to be able to own a Basslet is €129 and estimated delivery is December this year, just in time for you to ring in the New Year with your very own subwoofer attached to your body.
