People familiar with Basecamp will be glad to know that a new version is ready. It’s just a series of new updates to the Android app which we haven’t been featuring since last year. The most recent update we learned was when Sunrise added it to one version. The people behind Basecamp is always working in the background but they haven’t made any official announcement or release yet until this week and just before the Google I/O opens.

That will soon change as the devs are going to the Google I/O Conference in Mountain View, California. It’s going to be a crazy week but don’t be too overwhelmed with all the great news and cool stuff. One important update is this Basecamp that lets you view more stuff. If you’re a regular user, you’ll notice that you can now show the number of unread items on the notifications.

Since there are items placed on the notifications, know that you can reply from there. From the Lock Screen or the Home Screen, you can send a quick reply. Make sure that push alerts are enabled. Basecamp 3 also allows uploads on Android if you are in the Docs, Pings, or Campfires. You are free to rename any files before upload. You can also see the status of the upload, as well as, cancel or retry if necessary.

You can switch between Campfires easily. When you need to access other tools like To-dos, Docs, Check-ins, Schedule, Message Board, or other Files, just click on the quick access menu you will see in the title of Basecamp. You can also switch between Campfire chats more quickly so staying on top of each conversation will be a cinch especially on mobile. The Basecamp 3 version also offers improved typing but the developers promised more will released soon.
