If you feel that you are secure enough in your smartphone, you probably use the fingerprint scanner (well, if you have one) to not just unlock your device, but also to get into your apps and accounts without having to type in a password. If you are a Bank of America customer and you have their Android app installed on your phone, you now will be able to make online transactions as the latest update to the app now has support for Android Marshmallow’s native fingerprint recognition API.

Previously, only Samsung devices that had a fingerprint sensor were able to use the fingerprint identification to log on to their Bank of America account. But now, Nexus 5X and 6P owners will also be able to bypass the sometime tedious inputting of passwords in order to do all the financial things that you can on the app. Any other smartphones with fingerprint scanners will also be able to use and apply the API as well, as long as the user has the updated app.

The latest update to the app also brings some other features aside from the fingerprint identification. You will now be able to order checks through the app and even customize them, as well as track your order. You can also now choose how you deposit checks. You can either have your phone take the picture automatically or if you want to do it manually, take the picture yourself.

The update has rolled out to users so check your Google Play Store to see if it has reached your Bank of America Android app already.
