From time to time, the AT&T website throws up a surprise or two, giving us handsets and devices that were previously unannounced, not even anticipated. These are usually devices that are either renamed or partnership projects between the manufacturer and the carrier. This might be the case with the new LG Escape2, a mid-range smartphone that offers 4G (LTE) connectivity at a more affordable price point.
The LG Escape2 looks like it is a recent design of LG, not a rehash of old devices. This is because it carries the new curved design that LG seems to be taking to almost all its premium devices. Yep, it’s got that subtly-curved display that’s also present on the LG G4. The device is powered by a 1.2Ghz quad-core processor, a 4.7-inch HD (720p) display, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, and a 2,100mAh battery.
It boasts of LG’s patented rear-positioned buttons, which is actually a great innovation, in this author’s perspective. You have to try it to see why it makes everything easier. The LG Escape2 also carries the Knock On, Knock Code, and the Gesture Shot – all mainstays of the LG android UI.
While the LG Escape2 is already on the AT&T website, no information has been posted as to the pricing yet. Expect it to be on the mid-tier range, maybe around USD$300. Would you be interested in this?
