AT&T just rolled out software updates for the LG V10 and the LG G Vista 2 phablet with stylus. Finally, these AT&T models are ready to receive updates that include Android 6.0 Marshmallow, advanced messaging (IPME), and video calling (IR94). Owners of the H900 variant of the LG V10 and H740 of the G Vista 2 are now able to download the update via Firmware Over the Air (FOTA).
This series of software update comes after the one released last November based on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. If no notification has been pushed yet, you can still check on your device manually. Go to Settings> General> About Phone to see if version is the latest. Proceed to Tap Update Center > Software Update > Update Now.
The software update requires WiFi connectivity. Phone will tell you to connect to a WiFi network. A Software Update notification message will only show up when there is WiFi. Once you see this following message, it means the update is available: “A new software update from AT&T is available for our device. This software update will take several minutes and will not delete any personal data on your device. All services (including emergency calls) will be suspended during the install.”
Once software upgrade is installed, the device will restart. Check if the information is updated. You should see Android 6.0, Kernel Version 3.10.84, Build Number MRA58K, and Software Version H90020j.
