There are numerous tablets from different manufacturers but AT&T knows how a good price is one of the determining factors when buying a new device. The mobile carrier has just announced its first branded tablet available for as low as $49. This is the company’s first venture to stamp its logo on a tablet. It just went up for sale online today, May 12, and should be available for purchase from AT&T stores starting May 15.
Officially called as the Trek HD 4G LTE, this tablet is lightweight but is packed with an 8-inch High Definition display screen and 4G LTE connectivity so you can connect to the Internet anytime and anywhere. It’s one light tablet so carrying it around won’t be a pain and so you can be entertained and production wherever you go. The mobile device features Multi-User2 setting so you can set individual accounts for other users within the family or your community.
Specs include a 5MP auto focus rear-facing camera, 2MP front-facing cam, 1.6 GHz Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 16GB built-in memory, microSD card slot for storage expansion, and a 4060 mAh Lithium Ion battery. Of course, there’s also the standard WiFi, Bluetooth, and 4G LTE connectivity. AT&T Trek HD comes with a 4060 mAh Lithium Ion battery that can provide up to eight hours of battery life.
With a 2-year contract, you can get the AT&T Trek HD for only $49 or with a $10 monthly payment for 20 months with the AT&T Tablet Installment plan. If you have an existing Mobile Share Value plan with AT&T , you can just add the Trek HD to your account for only $10/month.
AT&T Mobility’s Senior Vice President for Device Marketing and Developer Services Jeff Bradley said:
“The Trek HD is a big step forward for AT&T in terms of developing affordable products with premium features. Not only is this our first AT&T branded tablet, it’s the first tablet in our entire portfolio with Lollipop already installed, so when you buy the Trek HD you’re getting the most advanced Android operating system at a great value – on the network with the nation’s strongest 4G LTE signal.”
The Trek HD also earned three out of five stars on AT&T’s Eco-Rating 2.0 system so you can say this tablet is very “green” and eco-efficient.
