US carriers seem to be in a very thankful mood lately, with T-Mobile’s #GetThanked campaign, Verizon’s Rewards Programs, and now AT&T joining the gratitude parade. They have announced that postpaid subscribers will be able to get a free movie ticket whenever they would buy one every Tuesday in participating cinemas. This is part of their newly mined “AT&T Thanks Program” which will hopefully see even more rewards added, in case moviegoing is not your thing.

Of course you need to have an active postpaid account to be able to get this reward. You need to validate your phone number on an AT&T microsite and once your number has been accepted, you will then be directed to MovieTickets.com where your coupon code will allow you to pay for just one ticket and get the second ticket free. You will be able to use the tickets in participating Regal and AMC Theaters all over the country. Since they’re the two biggest theater chains in the country, chances are there’s one near you.

AT&T hasn’t revealed yet what are their other plans for the AT&T Thanks Program. However they did mention that postpaid subscribers will also get to buy pre-selling tickets through Live Nation, but we don’t know if they will be offering discounts. Hopefully, the carrier will also be able to offer some treats for prepaid subscribers as well.

The other carriers still have a long way to go to catch up to T-Mobile in terms of expressing gratitude to subscribers, as they even have a dedicated app where customers can access the weekly treats they will experience. Hopefully, AT&T’s own program will be up to the task eventually.

      • I’m not a financial advisor, full disclosure I’m just some a hole on the Internet, but in the past I’ve read carriers want to reduce customer churn and one of the ways is customer appreciation. Prepay doesn’t have a contract and pay as you doesn’t provide the predictable income they need to plan network expansions.
