AT&T has announced the latest 4G LTE expansion news. Except this time around we aren’t seeing any markets that are getting coverage today. Instead this time around they are getting a look at the markets that will be getting coverage throughout the remainder of the year. And in addition, AT&T also provided a status update in terms of where things stand at the moment.

With that last bit in mind, AT&T has said they now have LTE available for more than 225 million people across 370 markets. The end of year coverage is expected to grow to “nearly” 270 million people across “more than” 400 markets. With that, the coverage still to come this year will be spread across nearly 30 states including Hawaii and Alaska.

Beginning first with those two states, the Alaska coverage will be for those in Fairbanks and the Hawaii coverage will include The Big Island and Kauai. Many of the states have one or two markets listed for this expansion, however there are a handful in Texas. The Texas coverage will include Abilene, Amarillo, Longview, Marshall, San Angelo and Tyler.

One important item to remember is that while AT&T has announced coverage for those markets, they have yet to offer a specific timeline in terms of when that coverage will be available for use. That all aside, the remaining markets break down as follows;

  • Dothan and Selma, AL
  • Redding, CA
  • Durango and Pueblo, CO
  • Tifton and Waycross, GA
  • Des Moines-West Des Moines, IA
  • Twin Falls, ID
