After the ASUS ZenFone Zoom, here’s another phone from the company that is surprisingly not a ZenFone. Meet the new Asus Live which is initially up for grabs and ready in Brazil. As we all know, Brazil is one of the few emerging countries where the likes of Xiaomi, Motorola, and Asus are focusing on simply because of the large mobile market.
The Asus Live is an entry-level, low-end Android smartphone that’s good enough for basic calls, texting, mobile gaming, and web browsing. It runs on a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6580 chipset and Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. The handset with model number G500TG features a 5.0-inch IPS display screen, 720 x 1280 pixel resolution, 2GB RAM, 16GB built-in storage, microSD card slot for memory expansion, and a 2070 mAh battery.
Asus Live only features WiFi and 3G but offers dual SIM support. When it comes to imaging, the 2MP front-facing selfie camera and the 8MP main camera are good enough to capture decent quality photos. If you think the onboard and additional storage are still not enough, the phone comes with 100GB Google Drive storage space—free for two years!
This smartphone from ASUS weighs only 140 grams and measures 144.5 x 71 x 9.98mm in dimension. Price tag reads $210 in Brazil. The company could have slapped a lower price but some phones are really more expensive in the South American country. It’s still affordable though–still within the mid-range category.
