Over at the Computex tech event in Taiwan, ASUS showed off the new ZenWatch 2. It’s obviously a follow up to last year’s ZenWatch. What’s good about the 2015 ZenWatch is that it will be available in two width sizes: 37mm and 41mm. The 37mm features an 18mm strap while the 41mm will have a 22mm band. The ZenWatch 2 versions boast the same AMOLED dipslays, Gorilla Glass 3, magnetic charging cables, as well as, IP67 dust and water resistance.
We have no idea what Qualcomm processor would be used but we’re guessing still a Snapdragon 400 as before. ASUS added a metal crown for added functionality but details are scarce about what it could do next. We can’t tell based on the photos if the case of the smartwatch or the screen is smaller.
What we’re sure of is that ASUS will also be offering more straps. There will be rubber versions available in orange, red, blue, and taupe. Leather version will also be available in blue, gray, brown, orange, and khaki. For those who want the stainless steel watch, there will be rose gold, gunmetal, and silver versions available.
For the ladies who want a more classy look, a Swarovski Professional leather strap will be available. Expect more a leather strap with Swarovski crystals embossed in a diamond pattern. That watch itself will actually be available in three finishes: rose gold, gray, and silver. With all the design choices and colors, the ASUS ZenWatch 2 “lets wearers design their own” for a more personalized wearable experience. You can even design your own watch face using the Watch Face Land app.
The ASUS ZenWatch 2 will also come with a new magnetic charger, which can be attached to the watch and extend the usage time. The remote camera app was updated and there’s a new Wellness app to track physical activity. As usual, no word on pricing and availability yet but we’ll let you know soon.
