ARCHOS, a gadget manufacturer that focuses on the mid-range and entry level niches, is gearing up for the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015 at Barcelona with a new smartphone in tow, and a couple of large screen devices. These devices are firmly targeted at the mid-range to lower-end tiers of the market – at consumers looking for functionality at a lower price.

The new smartphone is called the ARCHOS 50 Oxygen Plus 3G, quite a mouthful right there. The phone will most likely have a 5-inch HD (720p) screen, with a MediaTek octa-core processor. It’s in a slim form factor as well, at just 7.2mm. It will also feature 16GB of internal storage, priced at around USD$150. The “3G” marker in the name is no fluke – that means the phone will only have 3G data connections. ARCHOS is coming out with a 4G version by June 2015.

The company is also coming out with 3 phablet-sized devices – the ARCHOS 52 Platinum, the ARCHOS 59 Xenon, and the ARCHOS 62 Xenon. All feature HD (720p) screens with screen sizes increasing from 5.25 inches, to 5.9 inches, and then finally a humongous 6.27 inches respectively. All of the devices will feature the MediaTek MT6582 quad-core processor running at 1.3Ghz supported by 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage. All devices will run Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box, and will have 3G connectivity.

If you will be at Barcelona in the next few days, you can check these devices out on the ARCHOS booth at the MWC 2015 floor, among all the great and wonderful devices sure to be there during the whole week.
