The gates of CES 2015 in Las Vegas have opened. This means it will be one busy week for us. We’re excited as to what new products will be unveiled. We’ve featured early announcements back in December but most of them were only teasers. This week, we’ll finally know what these companies have been up to. One of those making early announcements is Arbor Solution with its latest Android tablet called as the Gladius 10.
Arbor Solution’s Gladius 10 is one rugged tablet. It comes equipped with a large 10.1-inch TFT HD LCD display and runs Octa-core Cortex A7 processor and Quad-core ARM Mali 3D GPU for high- performance. The name Gladius could be from the word gladiator because of its size.
Other specs include a barcode scanner making it ideal for work and industrial use, 1280 x 800 HD resolution, 1280 x 800 HD resolution, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating, energy-efficient graphics, 2GB RAM, 2MP front camera and 13MP auto focus rear camera , 16GB built-in storage, and a pair of SIM card slots. There’s no 4G or LT but there’s integrated GSM WWAN, WiFi and Class 1 Bluetooth digital connections. It’s actually meant for those in the medical, transportation, mobile point of sale, and warehousing businesses. Its battery can run up to a maximum of ten hours.
Making this a winner is its durability. It can withstand water, vibrations, dirt, extreme weather, and drops, thanks to the raised bezel for improved LCD impact protection and the phone’s MIL-STD-810G and IP-65 certifications. As for connectivity, the Gladius 10 also comes equipped with an RFID/NFC reader and a factor option to get an Integrated Bar Code Reader. You can get an optional desktop cradle and in-vehicle docking too for the Gladius 10 for a more efficient wireless charging.
The rugged Gladius 10 Android tablet will be shown off at the International CES during the Pepcom Digital Experience later today from 7PM to 10:30PM at the Mirage Hotel. Unit will be out in Canada this coming May with a $1,030 starting price.
