A few weeks ago, we told you about a new messaging app that allows you to create chat rooms for any of the apps you’ve downloaded, either to ask for advice, give advice, or basically just connect with anyone using the same app. While AppChat was still in the alpha phase, the developers received a lot of feedback and have given users 17 updates. But now, they’re ready to move on to the next phase which is bringing the app to beta mode.

Aside from the usual bug fixes and updates, moving to beta has brought a whole bunch of other features as well. You now have your full user profile, including pictures, top chat rooms, recent messages, and wallpapers. You can even upload your smartphone’s current wallpaper and make it the background of your user profile. And if you’re running out of wallpaper ideas, there’s now a special “Wallpaper Chat” where users can share their own and you can download your favorite ones and use them as your own.

With AppChat beta, not only can you chat with people who have the same app as you, but now you can also have a room with people who have the same device as you do. So any problems or issues or tips about your current smartphone can be shared and acted on in the device and manufacturer chats. If in any of your chat rooms there are people who are messaging in another language, the app can now automatically translate them to your default language.

You can also now see the last time you visited a room and it will scroll back to your history. And if you want to get notified about new message in certain rooms, you can add them to your watch rooms list. You can download AppChat Beta for free from the Google Play Store.
