Developer Mohammad Abu-Garbeyyeh has a keen eye when it comes to analyzing codes. This is the same guy who created an app for Android Wear to work with iOS. The project was a simple one but he was able to make use of the ANCS connection. No jailbreaking on the iPhone was done but you can’t use all Android Wear features.
The Android Wear-iOS phone connection can only show notifications because ANCS connection (Apple Notification Service Center) only allows such with a simple hack. This is just one of the many we expect to be developed and released by different hackers and developers.
Actually, we already noted earlier this month that Google would be releasing Android Wear app for iOS devices. We don’t doubt this one but it’s just a matter of time before Google and Apple work together on this wearable technology. Who knows, even the Apple Watch would someday work on an Android device not officially but maybe after some serious hacking, rooting, and decoding.
As for Mohammad, he noted some iOS related code in Android Wear 4.4W with a class name AncsHandler. He believes it’s a confirmation that Google is working on some Android Wear-iOS connection because why else would Google add Apple-related code if it’s not working on something.
The developer also showed off how an Android Wear smartwatch, specifically a Moto 360. His wearable was able to show an incoming FaceTime call. Watch video below:
