Android Pay has been fully operational in the UK for a month or so now and while Google hasn’t given us numbers yet as to how many are already using the mobile payment gateway, you can bet that they will do everything they can to bet more people to depend on their mobile devices for their in-store payments. One of the incentives that they’re offering is the Android Pay Day treats from their partners, and the first offers are from Starbucks and Deliveroo.
Basically, Android Pay Day is a monthly “event” wherein users who have been using the payment gateway will be able to take advantage of treats from selected partners. It will happen a few days before the actual general pay day, so the idea is you’ll be able to save money before you get your salary. Of course, obviously, you would need to use your Android Pay in order to avail of these promos.
First off, you can get a free Frappuccino if you use your Android Pay to buy 1 Frappuccino from Starbucks. The offer is only valid on June 21 at participating stores in Great Britain and is limited only to one transaction per customer. Meanwhile, food delivery service Deliveroo will give you £5 off your first order with them and £2.50 off for already existing users. Again, you’d have to use your Android Pay to order though their app, and use the code “AndroidPay5” or “AndroidPay2.5” at the checkout, whichever one applies to you. The offer is also available only on the 21st.
More deals will be coming to Android Pay users in the coming months. So if this is enough incentive for you to use the mobile payment gateway, just download and set up the app. Just make sure your card or bank is one of the supported ones, specifically Bank of Scotland, First Direct, Halifax, HSBC, Lloyds Bank, M&S Bank, MBNA and Nationwide Building Society.
