At I/O 2018, the Android P beta program was officially opened up. The great thing about the Android P beta is that it includes not only Pixel devices but a list of non-Google devices as well. Those include the Sony Xperia XZ2, Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S, Nokia 7 Plus, Oppo R15 Pro, Vivo X21, OnePlus 6, and the Essential PH‑1. But if your phone isn’t included in the beta program, the next best thing is to make your phone look like it has Android P, right?
The Pixel launcher featured in the Android P beta has now been ported via Rootless Pixel Launcher. This project brings Pixel launchers to non-Google devices, because obviously, you can’t have the Pixel launcher officially on a non-Pixel device. The Rootless Pixel Launcher now has the Android P beta’s Pixel Launcher as a mod. Take a look at how that will look below.
As you can see, there is not much difference from the current Pixel Launcher. The mod brings a few visual tweaks, but not much that should wow you. This mod for the Rootless Pixel Launcher should work in phones running Android Oreo, at the very least.
You can check the official XDA thread for the APK installer. Installing the app is simple enough, just make sure you’re running Oreo if you want the Android P beta’s version of the Pixel Launcher.
