Not many mobile devices have received Android 7.0 Nougat yet bet here’s Google getting ready with Android 7.1.1. This is actually already another update after the Android 7.1 installed on the new Pixel phones. This is only a minor update but it’s important to note because several improvements and new features have been added. Samsung has been working on the Beta Program for a few Galaxy models but we don’t know when the official update will roll out commercially.
Good thing we’ve got word that the public release of Nougat for Galaxy phones will already begin with Android 7.1.1. It’s the latest so far but brings exciting features like GIF sending straight from the keyboard, new emoji set, app shortcuts, and long pressing on some apps to launch certain actions.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are perfect alternatives to the problematic Galaxy Note 7. If you’re one of the unlucky Note 7 owners, consider any of the two. Rest assured their batteries are safe.
No information yet when Samsung will officially and publicly release the latest Android Nougat for the S7 premium flagship models. We’re hoping before this year ends but we’re quite expecting sometime in Q1 next year in time for the Mobile World Congress and the Galaxy S8’s announcement.
