Business that hand out Android devices to workers will get better control over those devices in Android 2.2. Google is going to be enabling remote security control for all Android 2.2 devices. This remote control will allow policies to be set remotely for all devices.
There will be a number of security functions in the 2.2 version of the OS. Those features will include the ability to remotely wipe data on lost or stolen devices, lock idle devices after a period of inactivity, and to require a password on each phone.
The minimum length of each password will be able to be set by policy and the passwords can be required to have numbers and letters. The update will be a significant one for business and enterprises looking to enforce some security for mobile devices.
