If you live in the UK or Germany and you have a Sonos speaker (or speakers), then you get an additional new treat today. That is, if you have an Amazon Prime account. Aside from the two-day guaranteed delivery, paying your monthly dues to the online retail giant has other perks, and one of them is Amazon Prime Music. Now you can add this music streaming service to your music sources and stream it to any of your supported Sonos speakers.
Sonos users in the US have of course been able to stream their Amazon Prime Music playlists onto the speakers, but now, UK and Germany owners will be able to do so as well. You can enjoy ad-free music, unlimited skipping of tracks (in case you’re already tired of One Direction coming up again and again on your curated playlist), and even downloading selected tracks so you can listen to them offline later on.
You’ll be able to add Amazon Prime Music through the Sonos app. Go to the Music menu, search for Amazon Prime, and then enter your Prime account info. After it verifies your details, you will now be able to stream any of the million-plus songs in their library. And if you don’t know what to listen to next, just click on any of their curated playlists and stations to match your current state of mind.
If you don’t have an Amazon Prime account yet, you can sign up for their 30-day free trial to see if this is something you might go for. You can also access Amazon Prime Video (for movies and TV shows) and Kindle Unlimited (for books), although it depends on whether your territory/country supports any of them.
