Those using a device with Google Now are fortunate enough to be able to have easy access to details on any incoming shipments, however those not rocking Jelly Bean are missing out. And while this is not exactly the same, Amazon has recently updated the Amazon Mobile app to include push notifications for your orders.
These new push notifications come as part of the v2.2.4 Amazon Mobile for Android app update which is now available in the Google Play Store. The notifications will offer details for when your package ships and when it’s delivered. You can also get notifications for the lightning deals.
Those looking to set-up the notifications will need to make sure they are signed into the app and have the Shipment Notifications setting showing with a green checkmark. This can be found by navigating to Menu -> More -> Notifications. One note on the notifications though, these require you to be running Android 2.2 or later.
Otherwise, aside from the addition of notifications, Amazon has also fixed a bug and made some improvements dealing with the friends and family member’s wish lists. The bug fix dealt with the crashing issue that was preventing the app to open on “some phones.” And as for the wish lists, Amazon has made it easier for your to search, view and shop from those lists as well as bookmark them for easy reference. In other words, Amazon has made it easier for you to spend money using the app.
