In case you haven’t heard, Amazon formed its own game studio, creatively named Amazon Game Studios, to develop exclusive content for its Android devices. The subsidiary has already produced a number of titles, most notable of which is perhaps To-Fu Fury. And here they are with yet another one, yet again a tried and true puzzle platformer in the form of Tales from Deep Space. And like the To-Fu, the plot isn’t something you have to take seriously, but it can still lead to some serious fun, especially when experienced with a friend.

The game is labeled as a “misadventure” because, seriously, what else can it be? The boring life of intergalactic salesman E (I bet they had a hard time coming up with that name) gets turned upside down by the unexplained lockdown of Big Moon, where he coincidentally just landed on, and now he is on a race to fight the baddies and get to the bottom of things. Or die trying. At least he won’t be trying, or dying, alone. He will be assisted by luggage drone CASI, short for Combat Assured Security Inventory, who isn’t his, by the way.

This cooperative theme of the game extends to the actual gameplay. While you can switch between the two lead characters in single player mode, it will probably be more fun, not to mention more chaotic, if you enlist the help of a friend. That’s right, the game can be played in local, co-op multiplayer mode, involving two Kindle Fire tablets connecting over WiFi.

If you haven’t guessed it yet, this game is only available for a select number of devices, namely, Amazon’s. And to be even more specific, multiplayer support is only available on Kindle Fire HDX and all 2014 Fire tablets. If you happen to own any (or all) of these, you can grab the game from the Amazon Appstore for a pretty price of $6.99.
