Amazon sells the 2018 Amazon Fire HD 8 locked but there’s been a recent development. The tablet has been locked and rooted by an XDA developer. We’ve been expecting this and we knew it’s only a matter of time. The latest Fire HD 8 is a bestselling tablet on Amazon but by being locked, the device is limited in function. There is no Google Play Services even if it is powered by Android Nougat. This issue now has a solution, thanks to XDA dev ‘xyz’.

To review, the 2018 Amazon Fire HD 8 comes equipped with an 8-inch screen, 1280 x 800 display resolution, 1.5GB RAM, microSD card slot, and a quad-core 1.3GHz chipset. The Android Nougat is topped by Fire OS 6.

The tablet is priced at only $79.99. It’s one affordable offer you can’t resist. You can probably buy more than two to use inside the house. It’s not that powerful but good enough for basic tablet use.

Amazon’s latest Fire HD 8 can be unlocked via a bootloader and then rooted. You can do it on your own, that is, if you understand what the developer has prepared.

Make sure you backup data because they will be erased. Have a USB handy to be sure. Don’t worry. After this, you can use the Amazon Fire HD 8 to its full Android potential.
