One of Alcatel’s current bestsellers is the OneTouch Idol 3 5.5. The entry-level smartphone from the French-brand is getting an over-the-air update that brings a number of bug fixes and improvements. Officially called as Idol 3 5.5 build 7SRA- UEA2, this version delivers several software enhancements like more speed and more responsiveness.

The OTA update also includes IPv6 support and performance fix on Snapchat. Some users reportedly would see their Snapchat app to crash unexpectedly especially when they swiping on the screen to select a filter. If you frequently use Facebook Messenger on your Alcatel OneTouch phone, you’d be happy to know that you can now share audio files recorded using the app. If you happen to experience some problems on the rear-facing camera when using the Camera FV-5 Lite app, know that that one has been fixed as well.

The change log seems to be very specific even naming the Facebook Messenger and Snapchat. This means that Alcatel really knows it products. There’s some kind of consistency here we hope that no more similar issues will be experienced. Alcatel is expected to roll out the OTA update starting today so wait for notifications.

  1. When connected to car bluetooth, google maps or waze wont play on car while car radio is on. If device is selected on car unit then you can hear nav app turn by turn directions. But if radio is on, directions wont override radio.
