Action Launcher remains one of our favorite – if not THE favorite – Android launchers simply because its developer Chris Lacy keeps adding one great feature upon another. Lacy also listens quite a bit to feedback from his users, and so bugs and whatnot are easily and promptly dealt with on every update, which is very much a regular happening, unlike other apps which starve of development. The latest update to Action Launcher is out, which brings us to version 3.5, with a new headline feature called the Quickbar.
We all have that Google search bar hanging around our home screens, which – if you haven’t already gotten rid of it or if your UI doesn’t allow you to get rid of it – just hangs there without much use. Very ornamental, really, and nothing much else. The Action Launcher already gives you the option to change the color of the search bar according to your wallpaper via Quicktheme, but Quickbar now gives you some use of that real estate by allowing you to customize it with shortcuts. Watch the video below for better details.
So with Quickbar, your Google search bar becomes an instant shortcut bar – giving you access to more of your phone’s apps and features. This new feature of Action Launcher now joins the whole cast of features – Quicktheme, Quickdrawer, Quickpage, Covers, and Shutters – in giving you a great Android experience.
Pick up Action Launcher via the download link below. It’s free to download but you need to pay to access the premium feature. Check it out if you’re looking to change up the way your UI looks and feels like.
